Knutsen Harp Guitar
Another bass headstock change
starts this new row of "Evolving Symphony" harp guitars.
An unusual feature of this
instrument is the use of rope binding on the fingerboard - perhaps the first use
by Knutsen.
Was it from a furniture supplier, as Noe & Most suggest, and/or was it the
first example of the Hawaiian instrument influence?
The instrument was significantly rebuilt with new materials in 2006 by Dan'l
Terry.
Additional photos and information can be found in From Harp Guitars to
the New Hawaiian Family by Noe & Most.
