Harp guitarists of the world, unite!

Please join us for a full weekend of harp guitar!

This year the Gathering will be held in Salem, Oregon over Labor Day weekend. The weather is usually warm and dry this time of year but be prepared for the possibility of rain.  We have Hudson Hall reserved on the campus of Willamette University - a recently built three million dollar state of the art concert hall.

There will be workshops, concerts, historical presentations, displays, luthier discussions, and lots of camaraderie with other harp guitar players and aficionados!

There will be a separate prelude concert Friday evening in Portland (location TBA) which is 20 minutes or 10 miles from the Portland Airport (where most performers will be arriving); and the Gathering concert on Saturday evening will be in Hudson Hall, on the campus of Willamette University in Salem. The former is optional for Gathering registrants, with a separate ticket price. We expect the roster at both concerts to be similar, if not identical. Both will be open to the public.

A "Round Robin" is scheduled for Sunday at 9:00 AM.  This is an open mic opportunity for harp guitarists not already featured elsewhere in the schedule to come forward and be heard. 

Gathering attendees are encouraged to fly into Portland, rent a car, prearrange car pooling, or use public transportation, stay at the Comfort Inn, Salem through the weekend.  There are 30 rooms held at the Comfort Suites in Salem for Sept. 2-4. These are available on a first come, first served basis. Make sure to say that you are coming to the Harp Guitar Gathering at Willamette University when you reserve your room at the Comfort Suites as they are giving us a special rate.

We will have many of the same folks as in Virginia, plus many new players, luthiers and historians – and a whole new coast to conquer!!
