Best wishes for a healthy and prosperous and harp guitar-inclusive 2014 to everyone around the world!
…from two random harp guitar nuts from opposite sides of the world (that’s harp guitar builder Max Monterosso, from Padua, Italy, visiting yesterday, December 31st)
Reminding us that it’s a small world indeed…
(In fact, as it happens, one of Max’s 6-strings is owned by Stephen Bennett – and played on SB’s groundbreaking new Nutcracker CD).
And – reminding us to count our blessings (if not making new resolutions) – is yesterday’s good news of Stephen’s successful surgery on a tendon in his hand (not exactly a holiday treat for a full-time guitarist). So Max and I took the opportunity to take some pics and give the guy a Get Well card for a speedy recovery…
…are you well over it?
Just had my left hand tendon done last week due to carpal tunnel syndrome, right hand pending. It really is a spooky operation – everything operates perfectly, only I am not *allowed* to do anything! A house full of guitars and no fingering permit…
I’m glad that you two met! Now Max needs to come to a Gathering! And he and I need to get our mutual friend Francesco Faldani to focus on the beautiful harp guitar Max built him.
Thanks guys for the great Get Well photo! It put a smile on my face.
Though I’m obviously unable to play guitar right now, I’m trying not to slack off too much. Finished off the transcription for The Black Gunners and am halfway done with the new tune I was working on when my injury occurred. It’s a new piece (for 6-string) written for my friend Tommy Emmanuel called Tommy and Clara Got Married. It has some annoying stretches for the left hand. Hmmm, coincidence….?
Transcribing from memory is difficult, but so far, so good. Next up in the queue? Sir Gregory Goes to Genoa Town.
Best to all,
sb
p.s. Hello Raffle-man! (Is anyone else imagining Hiro in a take-off of the opening of the classic Western tv show – The Rifleman? He’d be great!)
A Happy New Year Gregg-san!
So that all of the Harp Guitar family are happy this year.
Can be settled patiently even if you come across difficulty.
I love you and YOU~!
The “Raffle man” Hiro (^o^)v
